I would probably rent an argon bottle from a local welding store depending on what the cost of that would be. I've also looked at the diversion, but that would be a new purchase as well and at ~1800 would probably be out of the budget range.ĭoes anyone here have any experience with the 180SD? It seems like a solid machine, and for the price it doesn't seem like a bad deal ($1000). Eastwood 200 AC/DC (this would probably be a new purchase) Miller Syncrowave 180SD, no tank but everything else Locally the machines below have popped up: In terms of other welders I own a dialarc 250 AC/DC, but am willing to sell that if the tig I get can also do stick. My goal would be to maybe build a few bike frames down the road (both aluminum and steel) so AC/DC is a must, and in a perfect world maybe tig a go-cart frame I am in the midst of designing, although that is a year or two down the road. After looking around I have found a few options and figured a little input wouldn't hurt at all. I am looking at picking up a tig welder to have some fun with on my time off from college.
